The Via Nova Catholic Education Program

On March 8th, we went on Lamb Catholic Radio to speak with Heather Karrow on Seize the Day!  It was a great opportunity to tell folks in our diocese about the Via Nova. Listen HERE:

For nearly two years, Via Nova has enjoyed official recognition from Bishop Paul Swain of the Diocese of Sioux Falls.  We are working with Dr. Chris Burgwald to guarantee that we're faithful to the Church and her Magisterium.  Click on the image to the left to read the entire letter.

...the Latest...

2016 was a busy, busy year at Via Nova!  Here are some of the highlights:

  • In January, we completed the commercial bakery kitchen, and it was licensed by the state. We also began selling bread and pastries, at the invitation of a friend, from a storefront in Downtown Yankton, and several local restaurants began purchasing Loafers Bread on a regular basis.
  • In February, our second Fellow joined us here at the Via Nova, and in March we had a visit from a Fellow who will be joining us in January.
  • In August, three Fellows began studying with us on the Feast of St. Lawrence, and we found a permanent home for the Loafers storefront!  We had all the excitement of cleaning and remodeling this 100-year-old building, and finished just in time for--
  • The FIRST EVER Feast of St. Teresa of Calcutta, September 5!  We opened the new storefront, serving fresh baked bread, pastries, and--for the first time--Mystic Monk coffee!

We'll keep you posted on the highlights of 2017 as they happen--starting with this feature in our local newspaper, the Yankton Press & Dakotan.
